Today's crew had a pretty catch of big trigers, beeliners and yellow eyes. Also played with a few jacks and scamp grouper. Had a legal sized king on a micro jig and it got eaten by a giant amberjack. Good fight for a while but the pulled the king out of its gut. Fun times.
2nd day in a row of tough fishing. Yesterday the seas were pretty stout in the morning and we only managed a couple mahi. Today the seas were beautiful so we headed deep for big grouper. We were greated by big almaco jacks, amberjacks, and only a couple grouper. The crews were enjoyable despite the weather and slow fishing for our standards. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
The fish made us look for them a bit today, but, the guys came home with a handful of tasty gag grouper, a pretty cobia and the obligitory other stuff.
Had an enjoyable Father Daughter team onboard today. The wind tried it's level best to put a damper on the day but the crew kept at it and caught a nice class of gaffers, and had a shot at a white one.
Todays crew had bad trolling conditions and bad bottom fishing conditions but hung in there and scrapped out 12 mahi and some tasty triggers. Thanks guys, I enjoyed spending the day with ya.
Had a Father and Sons team today
They worked hard to get a good catch of gaffers and then wanted some bottom critters so we caught some pretty grouper and a mid thirties gag to end the day. Ended up with about 250 lbs. of some tasty stuff, and released some jacks as well. Catched a grown one today. Had a good day with a decent catch of jumbo triggers and beeliners, a lonely gaffer. and some other stuff, despite the north winds. Back at it again tomorrow. I really enjoyed the crew, and despite a bit of seasickness, I believe today worked out just fine.
Otto catching his first blacktip today. The crew had plenty of spanish so.......why not play with some of those critters.
Well the Pa crowd kept the cobia streak going with a pretty one today. The weather conditions were much better today as well. #Mercuryproteam #Centauranglerschoice
