Wow, two things come to mind while I update this blog. First off, where has all the time gone, and second, the sheer madness that fishing has been lately. We have been busy, busy, busy, and so have the wahoo, grouper, redfish, and others as well. Fall fishing is upon us and let me tell you the bite is getting hotter as the weather is getting cooler. It is especially true when it comes to the wahoo on the break and the gag grouper nearshore. Our last wahoo trip resulted in some of the wildest wahoo action with some real studs meeting the ice. We ended up with 7 nice fish last trip with 3 of the fish over the 40 pound citation mark and another one that hit the scales at 63 pounds gutted ! The gag grouper have been large and in charge as well, with some bonus red drum mixed in. A few trips ago we had hundreds of over slot red drum parked under the boat making it impossible to drop a grouper bait to the bottom without catching a 40 inch plus drum. Before the drum showed we enjoyed a steady pull of 10 to 15 pound grouper testing out backs and gear. Today we were supposed to go and catch some wahoo, but Mother Nature had other plans keeping the docklines on the cleats. We were disappointed in the weather, but am thankful to be able to have a moment to reflect upon the fantastic fishing now in my memory banks, and a chance to prepare for the future memory making trips.

Some bigguns from the last couple days. Fishing is almost as hot as the weather, I am ready to spend a day in the shade, pool, or a.c.
