First couple hour cobia trip of the season went swimmingly. Caught a pair of pretty ones.

I should have em' aboard more often for some more videos ! Thanks Guys ! Todays crew managed some groceries. Well done for the novice crew. Thanks guys.  The crew toughed it out in the wind against tide conditions. They scraped up a good catch and we headed in early. Fun group of guys.  Da big donks were plentiful. Missed getting a pic of the largest one becaused some gaffers started eating our jigs and poppers. Also had a topwater wahoo that bit off right at the boat. Ended up with blackfin, mahi, jacks, triggers, and some beautiful released scamp, gag and yellowmouth grouper. Fun times with Joey Smiles-Bass    We didn't get the quanity we were looking for, but we managed some quality fish. Plenty of nice blackfin, 3 wahoo and a lonely dolphin.  Today was one of those days. Couldn't buy a bite for most of the day . First bite was a darn bluefin and he had every intention of taking all my string. Pulled the hook on him. Finally started getting some bites but kept losing them. At least this yellobelly stayed buttoned up. It should go well with their wahoo on a plate with soy and wasabi. Tomorrow is another day.  Slow bite on the troll today. Still enjoyable though with some of Ohio's finest. 2 of the crew were north of 80 years old and were offshore 2 days back to back with me. Pretty tough dudes!  |
